Inline thickness measurement with optional profile control
Measure the profile. Correct the process.
The scanner maps thick and thin areas across the web. In this configured example, BC3 adjusts the corresponding die zones and later scans verify the result.
Three-dimensional configured cast-film thickness measurement with optional die-profile controlOpposed measuring heads traverse a moving three-thousand-millimeter web. The completed profile, flagged micron value, average, two sigma, minimum, maximum, Cp and Cpk update together only when a traverse reaches an edge. The camera then reveals a representative configured cast-film line in a sparse warehouse setting, with an in-line extruder butted directly to the automatic die, a rotating rounded chill roll, scanner, moving web, rotating rounded winding station, a dimensioned six-hundred by five-hundred-fifty by thirteen-hundred-ninety-millimeter sloped-console FLEXSCAN HMI with a blank fascia, and a two-bay BC3 Bolt Controller cabinet. A labeled blue Ethernet path carries measurement data between the scanner and HMI. In this configured example, an optional red automatic-profile-control path joins the HMI, BC3 and a compatible thermal die. The camera holds on the FLEXSCAN control screen for three seconds, moves to the BC3 and die while affected bolts pulse red only during correction, then returns to one final full-line view where the next completed traverse verifies the flatter profile and downstream roll record.
